Founded in 1868 by the American watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, IWC uniquely blends Swiss craftsmanship with American industrial ingenuity. It remains one of the most respected names in haute horlogerie — admired for engineering substance over decorative excess.
The Portugieser, born in 1939 from a request by two Portuguese merchants for a wristwatch with marine chronometer precision, became one of the most celebrated dress watches ever made. The Pilot's Watch line, rooted in navigation instruments for aviators, and the Ingenieur, designed for engineers working near magnetic fields, complete a portfolio defined by purpose and function.
